Dollar Volume for Loan Origination Requests Up Sharply in October, Cambridge Reports

CHICAGO, IL--Cambridge Realty Capital Companies reports processing 27 loan origination requests totaling $505.7 million during the month of October.

Chairman Jeffrey A. Davis (top right photo) said the dollar volume for October was more than twice the total for the same month last year, when the company processed 30 loan origination requests totaling $242.1 million.

Through the first 10 months of this year, Cambridge has reviewed 234 origination requests totaling $2.5 billion. For the same period a year earlier, the company processed 261 loan requests totaling $3.6 billion.

Davis points out that lenders close a relatively small percentage of loan requests received, but believes it’s useful to track this activity as an indication of market direction.

The dramatic dollar volume increase for October is largely explained by fact that the company processed more requests for new construction and multiple property portfolios during the month.
